UL SYSTEM BOARD OF SUPERVISORS WELCOMES NEW STUDENT BOARD MEMBER AND BOARD CHAIR

President Gallot and Mr. Mark Romero honor Dr. Jimmy Clarke for his exceptional service, leadership, and knowledge as Board Chair this year. His contributions have significantly benefited the Board, enhancing its collective efforts and progress. Dr. Clarke’s continued dedication as a valuable board member is greatly appreciated by the Board.


UL SYSTEM BOARD OF SUPERVISORS INITIATES A PRESIDENTIAL SEARCH COMMITTEE FOR NORTHWESTERN STATE UNIVERSITY

The UL System Board of Supervisors is initiating a national search to identify Dr. Marcus Jones’ successor as hetransitions from his current role as NSU President to rejoin the UL System as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a visionary and entrepreneurial leader who has exhibited academic and senior administrative success. The Board seeks an individual dedicated to fundraising, economic development, community relations, and student-centered initiatives.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate transparent communication, collaborative management, and shared governance, with high-level executive experience and demonstrated exceptional performance.

 


BLACK MALE SUMMIT | JUNE 17-18, 2024

We look forward to seeing you on June 17-18, 2024, at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel for the 2024 Black Male Summit.

This impactful Summit will bring together some of ַϲ’s leading minds to celebrate the achievements of Black men and explore opportunities for progress. We are honored to host several state leaders in education, healthcare, and criminal justice and excited to welcome Commissioner Kim Hunter Reed, from the ַϲ Board of Regents, who will kick off the summit; followed by Bivian “Sonny” Lee III who will share his inspiring work transforming the lives of young men.

University of New Orleans: approval to revise its mission statement.

Grambling State University: approval of a contract addendum with Mr. Donte Jackson, Head Men’s Basketball Coach, effective April 1, 2024.

ַϲ Tech University: approval of a contract with Mr. Joshua Taylor, Women’s Softball Head Coach, effective July 1, 2024.

Nicholls State University: approval of a contract with Mr. Jonathan Terrell, Vice President of Collegiate Athletics/Athletic Director, effective July 1, 2024.

FACILITIES PLANNING

ַϲ Tech University: approval to accept being a remainder beneficiary by bequest in a decedent’s will of three parcels of land, and to record its remainder interest in University records, the State Land Office, and all locations that may be required by law.

ַϲ Tech University: approval to name the atrium at Tech Pointe the “Argent Financial Group Atrium.”

Nicholls State University: approval to name the 3rd floor Auditorium located in Ayo Hall, Room 301, College of Nursing, the “Dr. Sue Westbrook Auditorium.”

Nicholls State University: approval to enter into a Land Lease with the Nicholls State University Foundation to renovate a section of Hill Hall for the Bridge to Independence Program, as authorized by La. R.S. 17:3361.

Northwestern State University: approval to enter a Ground and Facility Lease with the Demons Unlimited Foundation for renovations to the NSU Softball Field, as authorized by La. R.S. 17:3361.

Northwestern State University: approval to enter a Ground and Facility Lease with the Demons Unlimited Foundation for renovations to the NSU Brown-Stroud Field, as authorized by La. R.S. 17:3361.

Southeastern ַϲ University: approval of three naming opportunities.

University of ַϲ at Lafayette: approval to increase the budget for self-managed Act 959 Project Facility Planning and Control delegated authority allowing the University to oversee and manage the NIH C06 Grant Construction Project of Building 29 Laboratories renovations to be located on the New Iberia Research Center campus of the University of ַϲ at Lafayette.

University of ַϲ at Lafayette: approval for authorization to enter into Purchase and Sale Agreements for the acquisition of certain properties located in Lafayette from George Oscar Petro, and Agnes Hamilton LeBlanc.

University of ַϲ at Lafayette: approval to name the “Jennifer Ritter Guidry Memorial Gazebo” and “Jakelynn Ammons Student Life Center.”

FINANCE

ַϲ Tech University: approval to replace the University’s existing Affiliation Agreement with Innovative Student Facilities, Inc.

ַϲ Tech University: approval of an Affiliation Agreement between the University and the ַϲ Tech University Foundation, Inc.

ַϲ Tech University: approval of the Funds Management Agreement between the University and the ַϲ Tech University Foundation, Inc.

ַϲ Tech University: approval of an Affiliation Agreement between the University and the ַϲ Tech University Alumni Association, Inc.

McNeese State University: approval to enter into a Lease Agreement with Sodexo Operations, LLC for the operation of Food Service Facilities.

University of ַϲ at Monroe: approval to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) for reduced tuition.

University of New Orleans: approval to convert The Edward G. Schlieder Endowed Chair in Urban Waste Management and Research into four Endowed Professorships: Edward C. Schlieder Educational Foundation Engineering Endowed Professorships I, II, III, and IV.

ַϲ: approval to revise Campus Housing, Meal Plan, and Auxiliary Rates for Academic Year 2024-25 for Nicholls State University and Southeastern ַϲ University.
